🛡️ The Short Version
PDF Lock: Unlock & Protect is a utility app that unlocks and password-protects PDF files on-device. We collect minimal data, and only what's necessary to improve the app and process in-app purchases.
📁 Your PDF Files
All PDF processing (removing passwords, adding passwords) happens locally on your device using iOS's built-in PDFKit framework.
- PDF files are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party server.
- Processed files are saved temporarily in your device's app storage and can be exported by you.
- PDF history files are stored in your device's local Documents folder only.
💬 Feedback You Send
When you use the "Send Feedback" feature, the message you type and your optional reply email address are stored in Firebase Firestore (Google's cloud database).
- This data is used solely to read and respond to your feedback.
- Feedback is accessible only to the app developer.
- You may request deletion of your feedback by emailing us at nikunjit5294@gmail.com.
🔔 App Updates (Remote Config)
We use Firebase Remote Config to deliver app configuration, including minimum required version checks (force update). This service may collect anonymous usage metadata as described in Google's Firebase Privacy Policy.
No personally identifiable information is transmitted via Remote Config.
💳 Subscriptions & Purchases
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple's App Store via StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID.
- We store a purchase status flag and usage counters (unlock count, page count) in your device's Keychain.
- Keychain data stays on your device and persists through app reinstalls to prevent free-limit bypass.
- Subscription management is handled in your iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
📊 Analytics & Advertising
PDF Lock: Unlock & Protect does not use any third-party analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.).
We do not show advertisements and do not share data with advertising networks.
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
👶 Children's Privacy
PDF Lock: Unlock & Protect is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the feedback form, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
🔄 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
